ABOUT US
The Fuserna Foundation was formed in February 2005 and our charitable objects are as follows;
- To revitalize existing charities and individual charitable projects that are failing in their objectives due to financial constraints and or lack of exposure and publicity. This will include vital projects that have difficulty in raising funds to continue in their operations or get off the ground and without any form of reserve, good contacts or patrons to assist them.
- To fund projects that intend to alleviate poverty and financial hardship, to relieve sickness and poor health. The emphasis will be on self help and community.
- To enable individuals to reach their potential despite their social, physiological or environmental limitations. This will include providing new opportunities and experiences for children and the elderly that they may not otherwise have access to.
- To assist, promote, encourage sustainable projects that create long term benefits for disadvantaged local communities that are trying to improve their area. This will include the making of grants to projects that assist individuals who by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances have need of such facilities, particularly projects which assist young people in the long term through education and training.
- • To assist in the treatment and care of individuals suffering from mental or physical illness or those in need of rehabilitation as a result of such illness. This will include projects for mentally ill, drug, alcohol and other addictions.
The Foundation will not generally consider projects that include the following:
- Animals
- Religious activities / Religious institutions
- General appeals
The trustees of the Fuserna Foundation have an informal policy that they
will not generally support charities that have annual incoming resources
in excess of £3,000,000
or $5,000,000 (as the case may be), charities that have a high level of
publicity through high profile patrons. The Foundation focuses on supporting
smaller charities and unpopular causes where any donation made can make
a real and sustained impact.
The trustees have in the past made exceptions to this policy and have donated to charities with higher levels of incoming resources and publicity but this is not regarded by them as their core focus.
