R.E.A.D.R.E.A.D.

The Foundation is in the process of introducing R.E.A.D. (Read, Earn, Achieve, Donate), a fully sponsored non-profit reading program to prisons and schools across the UK and US. The main objective of the program is to enable individuals to contribute to society through reading. Through the use of books R.E.A.D. hopes to provide inmates and students with the opportunity to build self-esteem, a sense of responsibility and personal achievement. All reading levels will be welcomed and encouraged to participate.

Here's how the scheme works:

The scheme will be operated with the help of the prison and school librarians who will assist participants to choose a book of interest and will record the title and author in a journal provided by R.E.A.D. After completing a book the reader will write a short summary thereby enabling the librarian to record completion of the book. For every reading journal completed a donation will be made to a charity of the reader’s choice from a preselected list. The funds will be transferred by the Foundation itself directly to the chosen charity.

The Fuserna Foundation believes R.E.A.D. will empower the reader to have a positive influence on other people’s lives by considering other’s needs whilst benefiting themselves and occupying their time in an educational and productive manner.
